Some phones are configured as a “Floater” device.
When you sign into a Floater device using your voicemail PIN, you can use this phone just like you expect. It will ring anytime your extension is called. You can even configure it to respond when you click a phone number or allow Elevate to remote control it.
If you don’t know your voicemail PIN:
- Open Elevate on your computer or phone
- Open the avatar menu in the lower-left corner (computer) or upper-left corner (phone)
- Click Voicemail
To sign into a Floater phone:
- Dial *55
- Enter your extension followed by #
- Enter your voicemail PIN followed by #
- Hang up and wait for the phone to reboot
- Manually reboot the phone if it has not already done so within 1 minute
- To enable click-to-dial and Elevate Remote Control, simply select this phone from Call Settings in the Elevate Avatar menu
- This will have to be done each time you sign into this phone
- You will have to change this setting back to your “regular” phone when you return to your desk
After the phone reboots, it should have the standard MRBK soft keys to the left and right of the screen. However, these may only be present if you have the same phone at your regular desk. If they are missing, you will need to find them using the phone’s menu.
- The most commonly used soft key feature is Park. Press #7 to park the current call. To pickup a parked call, simply dial the extension given when the call was parked.
To sign out of a Floater phone:
- Dial *56 and hang up
- You will be automatically signed out after 10 hours
